As Peter Austin Noto's main biographer I interviewed Peter
during the summer of 2011 regarding the October 13, 2001
Saturday Night Live show hosted by Drew Barrymore regarding the
Anthrax Attack At 30 Rockefeller Plaza Is At The Same Time
Peter Austin Noto earlier in the year played a short order cook with Drew Barrymore
in the movie Riding In Cars With Boys

Can you remember the day
Peter Austin Noto:
If I recall I had not worked a show from the start of the 2001 season 2 or 3 shows maybe
and the casting director at the time (think it was Josh Payne) called and wanted to know
if I would work the show.
Always exciting to work on SNL
Matt Snow:
Do you remember the sketches you were in
Peter Austin Noto:
10 years ago and the answer is no but I did play Drew Barrymore's Boyfriend
in a scene but it must have been cut (not unusual)
Matt Snow:
any apprehensions with the Anthrax Attack's
Peter Austin Noto:
I new what was happening up at 30 Rock but did not give it a second thought
when talking with Josh Payne working out the details.
It wasn't until a bit later when my family asked me if it would be safe?
then it hit me, man this could be a risk.
I called Josh Payne back and asked him and he said 8h had no trace of Anthrax.
Matt Snow:
Did that make you feel better.
Peter Austin Noto:
Yes I think, my family then kidded me that since I had not worked that season so far
that they called me knowing I would do anything to work on SNL.
I know they were kidding with me then I thought what if that is true and nobody
else would work and they choose me.
Matt Snow:
An odd situation
Peter Austin Noto:
Sure was, then I figured if the entire cast was there, the Mayor was going to work the show
hey, the show must go on.
Matt Snow:
What was it like going there
Peter Austin Noto:
I felt very patriotic almost as if I was helping the country by working
and making a statement that Americans are not afraid.
So the energy level and awareness was at 150%
Matt Snow:
And once you were there
Peter Austin Noto:
Just remember approaching the area to go up to 8h was wall to wall security
all my items that I had on me were checked and double checked
Matt Snow:
Must be a show and moment that you will not forget
Peter Austin Noto:
The Anthrax show I will not forget, the minor details of the actual show
I already have but not October 13, 2001
