A great day and I was drunk *************************** Posted By: siren Re: My take on Zeps Performance At Live Aid @ 3-25-2009 11:38 AM
July 13, 1985 I taped the entire day of Live Aid. It had been 5 years since the break up Plant starting his solo work Page Death Wish etc.. I will start with MTV VJ Mark Goodman introducing them camera shot from high in the sky Then: Rock n Roll ~ Page already sweating under the arm pits Page in the middle of playing wipes his nose and A white smoke or powder comes flying out Page is spelled ~ Paige. Rock n Roll ends and the place is on fire. This may not be Zep at it's best but after 5 years of ZIP........ This was exciting. Rock n Roll seems to be played faster then normal probably due to the oddness of the day. A mini battle of the bands After Rock n Roll Plant rambles "Any requests" Whole Lotta Love begins: The visuals are different then your normally used to seeing Zep live During drum solo for Whole Lotta Love they start to quick and Page seems pissed that it started to early and "way down inside" is a cool shot taken from slightly behind With the stadium in front of Plant. Then Pages little riff sounds a little different then I heard before. After Whole Lotta Love camera pulls away to show entire stadium. First cords of Stairway sun going down Plant smiling at Page Beautiful shots of Page and Plant from the back with rays of light shining down Plant has a little earring this part of Stairway is beautiful "Does anybody remember laughter" Paul Martinez with his pencil legs on base Now Stairways guitar solo, Page smiling or laughing to Plant Plant is playing his tambourine, when one of the tambourine cymbal rings Comes flying off of Plants tambourine ~ I played that in slow motion a few times. Collins and Thompson keeping the beat, Collins now confused but it sounds great, "Please don't make me roll and she's buying" Crowd sings the rest There you have it the Led Zeppelin reunion, Mark Goodman talking. In the background the late Bill Graham announcing the names then a interview With the late Ben Orr of the Cars with Martha Stewart, Who are both HIGH and you feel at any moment they are about to make out Mark Goodman says my most thrilling moment just took place.
